Positive developments in the labor market



The labor market in Germany has become much more positive than expected. The Federal Employment Agency (BA) registered 3.229 million unemployed. These are less than 118 000 in September, but 232 000 more than last year.

Key to the current decline the number of unemployed has been estimated by the BA to the usual autumn upturn.

The number of employees in Germany fell in September to 202 000 people. As The Federal Statistical Office announced that 40.36 million people were residing in Germany employed. These are compared to the previous year 0.5 percent lower.

Im September wurden knapp 110.000 Anträge auf Kurzarbeit gestellt. In July the figure was 160,000.
